Meet Ronald Camilleri

Ronald Camilleri is a Maltese author born in 1983 to a working-class family. A lifelong resident of Malta, he has built a career in public service, with roles ranging from directing traffic to working as a security guard before settling into his current position as a clerk within Malta’s Health and Active Ageing Ministry.

His literary journey began at the age of 24 when he was struck by inspiration and penned his first novel in Maltese. Since then, Ronald has established himself as a distinctive voice in modern Maltese literature, having authored eight successful thrillers and crime novels. Known for his daring approach to storytelling, he consistently pushes the boundaries of his genre.

His new novel marks a significant evolution in his career: it is his first work written in English and his first to break from a Maltese setting, taking place entirely in the United States. Blending his signature crime elements with science fiction, this project represents his most ambitious work to date, as he spreads his wings to share his storytelling with a global audience.

Stories Forged from
Evidence & Experience

I do near-future thrillers in which institutions come into conflict with real life. Long night watches, field notes, transcripts, astronomy texts, and tightly choreographed scenes, clean-lined prose—everything has something on the line. The outcome is fiction that reads like a testimony and lands like a verdict.

Relentless and human. Camilleri threads hard science through a conspiracy so plausible it feels reported.
